Day 1 – Guwahati Arrival
Today you will arrive at Guwahati. On arrival assistance at the airport and proceed to hotel for check in and overnight stay.
Day 2 – Guwahati – Cherrapunjee
This morning, you will followed by you check out and proceed to Cherrapunjee (54 km from Shillong) Cherrapunjee, the capital of the British till 1874
affords an astounding perspective on the essence of Meghalaya, ‘The Abode of Clouds. Visit the waterfalls, View points. Later check in at the hotel for
overnight stay.
Day 3 - Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Cherrapunjee
Morning after breakfast, you will proceed for a full day excursion to, Mawlynnong Village - has earned the distinction of being the Cleanest Village in
Asia the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder
balancing on another rock. Mawlynnong nestled in the pristine hill state of Meghalaya, is along the Indo-Bangla border. This cute and colourful little
village is known for its cleanliness. Back to your hotel for a peaceful night sleep.
Day 4 - Cherrapunjee - Dawki – Shillong
After a relax breakfast check out and proceed to a to Dawki, Travelling from Shillong to the International trade route border town of Dawki is a
splendid drive passing through deep gorges and ravines, which is certainly a thrilling experience. Dawki is a beautiful place situated in the borders of
Bangladesh and Meghalaya.
Later back to Shillong. Check in at the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5 - Shillong local
After breakfast check out and proceed for local sightseeing such as The Shillong Peak, The Elephant Falls, Shillong Cathedral Church and Wards Lake. In
the evening walk around the local market of Shillong. Overnight stay.
Day 6 - Shillong – Nartiang – Smith – Shillong
After breakfast, you will proceed for a full day sightseeing of Nartiang and Smith.
NARTIANG
Nartiang, located in the Jaintia Hills, is about 65 kms from Shillong and 24 kms from Jowai. Nartiang of Meghalaya is famous for the collection of
bizarre, druid stones. From the geographical point of view, Nartiang is famous for possessing clusters of monoliths that are among the tallest
throughout the world. The monoliths range from 8 meters to 5 meters in height with a thickness of 0.46 meters and a breadth of 2 meters. The monolith
rocks stands for megalithic culture representing the Hynniewtrep people. Nartiang has historical significance too. It is believed to be the old capital
of the Jaintia kings. A 500 years old Durga temple in Nartiang is also among the proudly possessions of the place.
SMIT
The cultural center of the Khyrim Syiemship, Smit-Nongkrem manifests itself within half an hour from Shillong.The house of the local priest—the
‘Lyngdoh’ as he is known is a study in itself.
A stone’s throw away is located the village brewery, the only legal ‘bar’ in the Kingdom of Khyrim. At Smit, resides the ‘Iing Sad’, the royal abode of
the Syiem Sad, Queen Mother or High Priestess of Hima Khyrim, who is the custodian of the indigenous religion.
Day 7 - Shillong Departure
After breakfast you will be followed by your check out and you will be dropped at Guwahati railway station/Airport where you will connect to your onward
destination.
